If I were a dove I would fly very high in the sky
I would visit the world without locks
You'd see my wings flapping from joy
I'd spend my day in the high mountains
I'd see with my own eyes everything my old folks use to talk about
I'd meet different kinds of birds
My friends that live in cages envy me
They want me to live in a cage and be miserable just like them
Oh mama mama, I wanna be like a dove
I wanna fly high in the sky, and see all the fish from above
If I were a dove, I'd wear a white flag and go to a place where children are dying
I'd take them by the hand to a beautiful and calm place
They'd live in peace and love would reign
But I'll go back home (Country) after a long separation and sing for it amongst the flowers
In the summer and the winter, when it's hot and when it's raining
Today I'm home, but tomorrow I'll be travelling once again
Oh mama mama, I wanna be like a dove
I wanna fly high in the sky, and see all the fish from above
