TommyBeez - RIP Snowball Lyrics

It was a cool California night
Left the party about midnight
There was a stillness in the low light
As I walked up the street to my ride
Maybe I should have left the party sooner
Yeah maybe I could have altered her fate that night
But I didn't know
I didn't know what I didn't know
Adrenaline flooded my head at the sound that I heard then
It was the shriek of a furry friend being hunted for din din
These famished hunters were skilled, they worked as a team
Coyote partners in life just livin' the dream
I was frozen and focused trying quickly to process the scene
White fluff in it's mouth and he shook it ferociously
Before I could react feline was flying 6 feet in the air
I started yelling and ran up the street, had abandoned all care
But I didn't know
I didn't know what I didn't know
But I didn't know
I didn't know what I didn't know
Before she hit the ground those hungry beasts had already fled
Their midnight snack barely breathing as the slobber dripped down from its head
The porch lights came on and a family rushed out to the street
The kids still in jammies with rivers of tears down their cheeks
Maybe I should have left the party sooner
Maybe I could have altered their fate that night
Or maybe I should've let those coyotes finish dinner
And spared this whole family a sad and horrific sight
But I didn't know
I didn't know what I didn't know
There was a hush in the air, time was frozen for a minute or three
I explained what I saw, but they never even looked up at me
They were fixed on the foaming mouth when the dad finally spoke
And when I heard his words I knew it was time to go
He said
Snowball why did you stray so far from home
Snowball why did you feel the need to roam
Even in darkest nights your whiteness gleams for miles
Like a marshmallow with legs and no chance to survive
Oh Snowball
Rest in peace Snowball
Rest in peace Snowball
Rest in peace my fluffy friend
Snowball
