• "Pikotaro" said that he wrote the song in one minute. He was listening to a keyboard beat, holding a pen and there was an apple on his desk. When he went 'Ugh' along to the beat, he coincidentally made a stabbing motion with his pen at the apple. After he had Apple-Pen, he thought "what sounds like Apple... Pineapple!", and history was made.
