Counting down the hours 9 to 5
We work ourselves to the grave
Just to survive
Dead eyes, blank stares pass the time
But do they see the travesty of never feeling alive
Working 'til the day we die
We were meant for so much more than this
Potential hidden deep within our midst
We're all just searching for something new
For something to hold on to
We're all just lonely and afraid
Waiting for a reason to stay
Staring at the clock
In apprehension of the day to come
We wither away
Until we cease to exist
We're just one small drop amongst a sea so vast
We can be small, in this world
Or giants if we try
So don't sell yourself short
We were all meant to belong with the stars in the sky
We can all be giants if we try
We're all just searching for something new
For something to hold on to
We're all just lonely and afraid
Waiting for a reason to stay
And I know that yes
We are
Part of this universe
We are in this universe
But perhaps more important
Than both of those facts
Is that the universe
Is in us
When I reflect on that fact
I look up
Many people feel small
Coz they're small
And the universe is big
But I feel big
Because my atoms
Came from those stars
