That faded picture frame
It's been so many minutes, hours, days
I expect it to read a different name
That kid's just not the same
He's been through thick and thin
So many cosmic circumstances
Written in the window pane
Some say that he grew up like everyone else
But this figure in the mirror's saying he grew into himself
A breathing history novel
In which I'm the singular scholar
And by the table of contents, you'll find
I'm not just a child but
I wander
I'm a modern marvel of art
A work in progress that's honest to where my childhood started
But I Wonder
If I've always been following
Where the stars had me charted or my own path that I'm carving
I still wander
Whether I'm a toddler or father
I know I'm guided to respond to the beat of the same heart
But I wonder
What the future will author for
Someone walking the boulevard of a Cosmic Wanderer
Um, I don't know what it is
I'm not that sure
It's like, so weird, isn't it?
Yea
Yea
Okay, onto the next one
I used to tell myself it all would get better
If I just changed myself and acted like a regular fella
But I'm no common denominator, I'm no bottom dweller
So what made me stand so far apart is now why I'm interstellar
A vagabond around Venus
One among Martians on Mars
I'm a pariah like Pluto
And I'm thanking my lucky stars
I bless my roots with joyful tears that need no gravity to fall
'Cause my personas rest inside me like my heart's a nesting doll
And together we walk
Through the celestial dark
With many fears, but now the future is the least of them all
Um, I don't know what it is
I'm not that sure
It's just so cool
I'm not afraid that it's the end of an era
Bookmarks in my autobiography are stacking up heavier
So, I'm sending this letter
So that I won't forget
How this chapter concluded
When the next one begins
So much support within my orbit
That I can't count my blessings
I may be floating in the unknown
But I don't need directions
I've got a weight on my shoulders
But outer space plays the jester
So I can learn how to carry it
When it's light as a feather
Got astronomical responsibilities under my arms
But I'm programmed with a mission
And I'll land it with aplomb
I've come to know the man I am, and recognize the face
I'm just worried if the rockets can keep up with my pace when
I wander
I'm a modern marvel of art
A work in progress that's honest to where my childhood started
But I Wonder
If I've always been following
Where the stars had me charted or my own path that I'm carving
I still wander
Whether I'm a toddler or father
I know I'm guided to respond to the beat of the same heart
But I wonder
What the future will author for
Someone walking the boulevard of a Cosmic Wanderer
And that's all the time we have today
Yea
So, I'll seeya later
