I start to notice everything has gone amiss
A shroud of darkness covers everything in mist
The wind is rushing through my bones down to the marrow
Yet leaves don't rustle
Waves don't ripple
A shadow's fallen over me
It's gotten colder now
The rains begun
All the birds flew south
The colors have all gone
I feel the water crack beneath my feet, the snow it's crunch
Is it safe
I couldn't know
I couldn't care
I've been lit aflame for years
But now your flames gone out
And I'm still here to put away
The bits that fell outside of me
Brown to gold
Grey to white
Life to death
Warm to cold
North to south
I'm not ready to let go . . .
