Lonestar - Lonely Grill Lyrics

Saturday Night

S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y, night
S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y

I gotta get out of these coveralls
They're throwin' a dance at the union hall
I just got paid so I got a little cash
I been workin' all week gonna have me a blast

Monday, Tuesday, Humpday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Take up all of my life, and that ain't right
I get my rest on Sunday
But I have a little fun on Saturday night

S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y, Saturday night
S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y

I'm gonna wash and wax my truck
I got a date with lady luck
She gonna wear her dancin' shoes
And we gonna get just a little footloose

Monday, Tuesday, Humpday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Take up all of my life, and that ain't right
I get my rest on Sunday
Then I have a little fun on Saturday night

S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y, Saturday night
S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y, Saturday night
Saturday night
Saturday night
Saturday night

Well the band just played their last song
But me and my baby gonna party on, you know that's right
Gonna find another place with a neon light
Can't go home it's Saturday night

Monday, Tuesday, Humpday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Take up all of my life, and that ain't right
I take my rest on Sunday
Then I have a lot of fun on Saturday night

S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y, Saturday night
S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y, Saturday night
S.A.T.U.R. All dressed up Saturday night
S.A.T.U.R. Ready Saturday night
S.A.T.U.R.D.A.Y All dressed up, ready to go, come on baby let's hit the road

Simple As That

Got us a situation
It don't no explanation
It don't take a scientist
To figure out just what this is
Unlike the changing seasons
Love happens without reason

It's as simple as that
Two people meet it's destiny that they're together
It's as simple as that
I knew when I met you that this would last forever
It's as simple as that
And I can promise you that I will leave you never
I'm happy right where I'm at
It's as simple as that

It's how I feel when you call my name
It's holdin' hands in the pouring rain
A slow dance that never ends
The sweet sound of violins
And even when we're apart
You beat around in my heart

It's as simple as that
Two people meet it's destiny that they're together
It's as simple as that
I knew when I met you that this would last forever
It's as simple as that
And I can promise you that I will leave you never
I'm happy right where I'm at
It's as simple as that

It's as simple as that
Two people meet it's destiny that they're together
I knew when I met you that this would last forever
And I can promise you that I will leave you never
I'm happy right where I'm at
It's as simple as, it's as simple as that

It's as simple as that
It's as simple as that
It's as simple as that

Amazed

Every time our eyes meet
This feeling inside me
Is almost more than I can take
Baby when you touch me
I can feel how much you love me
And it just blows me away
I've never been this close to anyone or anything
I can hear your thoughts
I can see your dreams

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

The smell of your skin
The taste of your kiss
The way you whisper in the dark
Your hair all around me
Baby you surround me
You touch every place in my heart
Oh it feels like the first time every time
I wanna spend the whole night in your eyes

I don't know how you do what you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

Every little thing that you do
I'm so in love with you
It just keeps getting better
I wanna spend the rest of my life
With you by my side
Forever and ever
Every little thing that you do
Oh, every little thing that you do
Baby I'm amazed by you

What About Now

The sign in the window said for sale or trade
On the last remaining dinosaur Detroit made
Seven hundred dollars was a heck of a deal
For a four hundred horsepower jukebox on wheels

And that road rolls out like a welcome mat
I don't know where it goes but it beats where we're at
We always said someday somehow
We were gonna get away gonna blow this town

What about now, how 'bout tonight
Baby for once let's don't think twice
Let's take that spin that never ends
That we've been talkin' about
What about now, why should we wait
We can chase these dreams down the interstate
And be long gone 'fore the world moves on and makes another round
What about now

We've been puttin' this off baby long enough
Just give me the word, and we'll be kickin' up dust
We both know it's just a matter of time
'Til our hearts start racin' for that county line

What about now, how 'bout tonight
Baby for once let's don't think twice
Let's take that spin that never ends
That we've been talkin' about
What about now, why should we wait
We can chase these dreams down the interstate
And be long gone 'fore the world moves on and makes another round
What about now

We could hang around this town forever making plans
But there won't ever be a better time to take this chance

What about now, how 'bout tonight
Baby for once let's don't think twice
Let's take that spin that never ends
That we've been talkin' about
What about now, why should we wait
We can chase these dreams down the interstate
And be long gone 'fore the world moves on and makes another round
What about now
What about now

Tell Her

So you say your love's about to end
You say you can't take no more
She's out the door
And your looking for a friend

Who am I to tell you why
But I'm just curious were you furious
Or did you swallow your pride
And look her in the eye and

Tell her that you love her
Tell her that you need her
Tell her that you want her to stay
Reassure her with a kiss
She may never know unless you
Show her what your feeling
Tell her you're believing
Even though it's hard to say
'Cause she needs to know you're thinking of her
So open up and tell her that you love her

Brother I've been right where you are now
And my heart was broke
'Cause I never spoke
Those healing words out loud

But I've learned my lesson well
And now every night
Before I close my eyes
I look at my woman and
I ask myself did you

Tell her that you love her
Tell her that you need her
Tell her that you want her to stay
Reassure her with a kiss
She may never know unless you
Show her what your feeling
Tell her you're believing
Even though it's hard to say
'Cause she needs to know you're thinking of her
So open up and tell her that you love her

Tell her that you love her
Tell her that you need her
Tell her that you want her to stay
Reassure her with a kiss
She may never know unless you
Show her what your feeling
Tell her you're believing
Even though it's hard to say
'Cause she needs to know you're thinking of her
So open up and tell her that you love her

Tell her that you love her

Dont Lets Talk About Lisa

Don't let's talk about Lisa
Don't let's even start
Let's leave Lisa out of this one
Lisa broke my heart

Gwendolyn was splendid but her tendency to spending
Spun a little out of control
Two nights on the town and
My poor bank account was crawling around on the floor

And pretty young Alicia she could take a piece of your heart
And lead you to the light
Lucy Melinda Loretta and Lucinda
We could go on all night but

Don't let's talk about Lisa
Don't let's even start
Let's leave Lisa out of this one
Lisa broke my heart

Priscilla was a killer, meaner than Godzilla
But oh what a pretty girl and
Dawn in the dawn with her pom-poms on
She could twirl like a tilt-a-whirl

There's wonderful women all over the world
I've said it again and again
But she whose name must not be spoken
Has it all over all of them so

Don't let's talk about Lisa
Don't let's even start
Let's leave Lisa out of this one
Lisa broke my heart

You can talk about the weather
Cotton or leather
And do you think the Beatles
Shoulda really gotten back together
Talk about the truth
Mantle or Ruth
Fabio, DiMaggio or John Wilkes Boothe

Don't let's talk about Lisa
Don't let's even start no, no
Don't let's talk about Lisa please sir
Lisa broke my heart

Oh Lisa she's off limits man
Lisa broke my heart

You can talk about Hanson, Marilyn Manson
And do you think they'll ever have a show down in Branson
Talk about desire, Sosa or McGwire
And is we in the fryin' pan or is we in the fire
Talk about what's real and what you really feel
And how's about those mini skirts on Ally McBeal
Talk about the X-Files, Macaroons and mistrials
And did you ever snag your jacket pocket on a turnstile

Ive Gotta Find You

I've got this dream that won't go away
When I close my eyes your there night and day
Baby whatever it takes I've gotta find you

Are you someone I know or that I'll meet by chance
Are you somewhere close or in a far away land
Across the ocean or burnin' sand, I've gotta find you

I've gotta find you
Don't care how long it takes
I know when I do it'll be worth the wait
With God as my witness and love as my guiding star
Maybe Miami on some sandy beach
New York City making waves on wall street
No matter where you are
I've gotta find you
I've gotta find you

You could be a checker at the grocery store
For all I know you're the girl next door
One thing I know for sure, I've gotta find you

You might be a waitress workin' your way through school
Or the anchor person on the six o'clock news
Only my heart knows who, I've gotta find you

I've gotta find you
Ddon't care how long it takes
I know when I do it'll be worth the wait
With God as my witness and love as my guiding star
Maybe Miami on some sandy beach
New York City making waves on wall street
No matter where you are
I've gotta find you
No matter where you are
I've gotta find you
I've gotta find you

You Dont Know What Love Is

You say I'm aggressive, too possessive
It's too soon, too much
You want to wait around, slow it down, but I'm burnin' up
What can I do to get through to you, I know that you're the one
'Cause there's no controllin' this emotion, it's bigger than us

You don't know what love is
If you think that I can fight this feeling
Keep my true heart from revealing
Everything inside
You don't know what love is
If you hear me say your mine forever
Feel our two hearts beat together
And think you can resist
You don't know what love is

It's soft and gentle, it's sentimental, can't you feel it too
There's no denyin' or compromising, it's perfectly true
It's overpowering, it's all around me when I'm around you

You don't know what love is
If you think that I can fight this feeling
Keep my true heart from revealing
Everything inside
You don't know what love is
If you hear me say your mine forever
Feel our two hearts beat together
And think you can resist
You don't know what love is

I see you smile and girl I'm sure I've found it
Heaven knows there's just no doubt about it now

You don't know what love is
If you think that I can fight this feeling
Keep my true heart from revealing
Everything inside
You don't know what love is
If you hear me say your mine forever
Feel our two hearts beat together
And think you can resist
You don't know what love is

You don't know what love is
You don't know what love is
You don't know what love is

All The Way

Hey, we're walkin' through this together
And I'm holdin' onto you
Nothin' can separate
This little twist of fate
You're the one my heart belongs to
Nothin's quite as sweet as the journey
So let's go around the world
Takin' in everything no matter what life brings
We're gonna be chasin' forever

All the way
To the end
All my life
And back again
Every day
I'll be here
Loving you
All through the years
And it's true
There's so much freedom in knowin'
How sure we are that we're goin'
All the way

People ask me "Think ya'll can make it"
And I tell them honestly
This ain't no fleeting thing
We're not imagining
This is it, we know it's meant to be
'Cause I love you, love you completely
I've never felt like this
I don't want nothin' but
Something that's passionate
'Cause the only way I know how to love is

All the way
To the end
All my life
And back again
Every day
I'll be here
Loving you
All through the years
And it's true
There's so much freedom in knowin'
How sure we are that we're goin'
All the way

There's so much freedom in knowin'
How sure we are that we're goin'
All the way
All the way
All the way
All the way

Smile

I still remember the night we met
You said you loved my smile
But your love for me was like a summer breeze
Oh, it lasted for a while
I could hold on a little tighter I know
But when you love someone you gotta let 'em go so

I'm gonna smile
'Cause I want to make you happy
Laugh, so you can't see me cry
I'm gonna let you go in style
And even if it kills me
I'm gonna smile

Kiss me once for the good times, baby
Kiss me twice for goodbye
You can't help how you don't feel
And it doesn't matter why
Give me a chance to bow out gracefully
'Cause that's how I want you to remember me

I'm gonna smile
'Cause I want to make you happy
Laugh, so you can't see me cry
I'm gonna let you go in style
And even if it kills me
I'm gonna smile

I'm gonna smile
So you can find the courage
Laugh, so you won't see me hurtin'
I'm gonna let you go in style
And even if it kills me
I'm gonna smile

Lonely Grill

Box speaker talkin' out a tune
Two for one on a blue lagoon
Another lost and found

Bartender takes another pass
Puts the salt on the rim of another glass
And he sits it down

I know every color of every neon sign
Flashing out a heartache in the back of my mind

Down at the lonely grill
Got nothing but time to kill at the end of everyday
I sit in a corner booth and do nothing but think of you
And the love we threw away
And I guess I always will
Down at the lonely grill

Sad-eyed waitress called Betty Lynn
Got her order pad and her ball-point pen
Said what'll it be

I said a tall glass of cold regret
A full order of loneliness
Like every night this week

I'll shoulder my pride and I drank it down
Another smoke filled evening with no fire to be found

Down at the lonely grill
Got nothing but time to kill at the end of everyday
I sit in a corner booth and do nothing but think of you
And the love we threw away
And I guess I always will
Down at the lonely grill

Lonely grill
I sit in a corner booth
And do nothing but think of you
And the love we threw away
And I guess I always will
Down at the lonely grill
Lonely grill
Down at the lonely grill
Down at the lonely grill
Down at the lonely grill
At the lonely grill

Everythings Changed

Funny you should show up after all of these years
Yeah things sure have changed around here
Seen a lot of strangers since they put that interstate through
No this ain't the same town that we once knew

They put up a plant where we used to park
That ol' drive-in's a new Wal-Mart
The caf¨¦ is closed where our names were carved on that corner booth
Yeah, everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

That westbound to Santa Fe don't stop here anymore
You were one of the last to get on board
That street that we grew up on you wouldn't recognize
Girl nothing's been the same since you said good-bye

They put up a plant where we used to park
That ol' drive-in's a new Wal-Mart
The caf¨¦ is closed where our names were carved on that corner booth
Yeah, everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

They put up a plant where we used to park
That ol' drive-in's a new Wal-Mart
The caf¨¦ is closed where our names were carved on that corner booth
Everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

Yeah, everything's changed except for the way I feel about you

Back to: Lonestar

Lonely Grill is the third studio album by American country music group Lonestar, released in the United States on June 1, 1999, by BNA Records. It reached number 28 on the Billboard 200 chart, and number three on the Top Country Albums chart. With sales of three million copies in the United States, it has been certified 3× Platinum by the RIAA. This was Lonestar's first studio album to have a crossover-friendly country-pop sound, which was a departure from their earlier neotraditional country sound.

It is also their first studio album to be recorded as a four-piece as bassist and second lead vocalist John Rich left the band the previous year in 1998. Instead of replacing him with a new member, the band hired several session bassists to play the album's bass parts.

Genre(s): Country, pop, rock
Producer(s): Dann Huff, Sam Ramage, Bob Wright
