Cs I'm walking down the street during Christmas
I see people through their windows as I pass by.
Everyone with shelter seems jolly this instant
Cs they look forward to another cozy night.
Jolliness doesn't exist out here,
Just a desperate feeling beneath the glistening ice.
Freezing abandoned children don't cheer,
Because they might be dead before sunrise.
Your fire is toasty and bright,
But there won't be any warmth found in the darkness tonight
By the thousands of homeless men, women, and children
Impoverished victims labeled as villains,
So when you look out of your window tonight
Be glad you're not struggling to stay alive
While clutching to a cardboard sign
Cs a thousand unfamiliar faces pass you by.
