I have a friend whose delusions all scare me
Maybe because they're all so much like mine
He's a twist to the tracks, but he'll never derail me
For I see straight through to the back of his mind
I have a friend, I don't like his delusions
We're two different grapes growing on the same vine
With a similar start, but a different conclusion
He's destined for raisins, I'm destined for wine
And he wants to see the world from on high
And he want to feel a light in the sky
And he wants to hear grand words from above
All he needs is to feel unconditional love
I have a friend, sometimes isn't quite with me
But often I feel all his thoughts in my heart
And I have a brother who thinks that he sees me
When really he's seeing my turbulent start
And all that I want is to be understood
To be pierced by an eye that detects all my good
Wanna shout from the hills, "I have found my connection"
Mostly I just want to achieve perfection
I have a friend whose delusions all scare me
Maybe because they're all so much like mine
With an elbow or knee, he asserts his position
But he'll come to see-- doesn't matter in time
