Cyndie Sledge - Spring of 1930 Lyrics

Cyndie Sledge - Spring of 1930 Lyrics

In the spring of 1930 a beauty queen was born.
By an old town of Seminole, raised on a Scarborough farm.
Her daddy was the sheriff in this town of Seminole but he died much too young, so the story goes.

Oh Oh Billie girl the apple of his eye,
Oh Oh Billie girl her angel in the sky

She met a catch name Charlie at a local game.
He set his eyes on Billie, Charlie never was the same.
They held hands and fell in love, a love at first sight.
They a vow to trust in God and she became his wife.

Oh Oh Billie girl the apple of his eye,
Oh Oh Billie girl her angel in the sky

Sandra Lee had two beauties, Nicole and Angela.
They blessed her with more great grands, a special kind of love.
Then there's Chuck, with three blessings she loved them all the same.
Victoria, Jacob, Wesley...he'd carry on the name.

Thanksgiving time, her favorite time. She made it all so nice.
Pop would roast the turkey and mom she'd bake those pies.
We'd gather round the table to say a prayer of grace,
It blessed her so to have us there, the joy was on her face

Oh Oh Billie girl the apple of his eye
Oh Oh Billie girl her angel in the sky
Our Angel in the sky
In the spring of 1930
