Sittin' in my tent
Drinking sleepy time tea
All my jobs are done
And there's no one to bother me
See the silhouettes of ants
Crawling all across my tent
I guess their just like us
Exploring where they haven't been
I'm looking out my windows
To the misty mountains above
It's like a get well card
That you'd send to the one you love
Misty mountains
Wrapped in clouds
It's so quiet
That it's loud
The aspen whisper
To the evergreen
Squirrels are chatterin'
And the birds all sing
Misty mountains
Misty mountains
The tallest peak that I can see
Well they named it Laramie
It was a landmark to the settlers
Who hoped to reach Oregon in one piece
I climbed up to the top
The other day when it was hot
The ravens circled above me
In hopes that I would drop
The view was so beautiful
Just like sitting on the world
It was so bright and clear up there
But today everything's obscured
Misty mountains
Wrapped in clouds
It's so quiet
That it's loud
Aspen whisper
To the evergreen
Squirrels are chatterin'
And the birds all sing
Misty mountains
Misty mountains
Misty mountains
There's a desert in your heart now
That's too often spent all dry
You need to water it with wilderness
Til the flowers bloom and you're alive
Misty mountains
Wrapped in clouds
It's so quiet
That it's loud
The aspen whisper
To the evergreen
Squirrels are chatterin'
And the birds all sing
Misty mountains
Misty mountains
Misty mountains
Misty mountains
