I woke up in a fantasy land
With chocolate trees and sugared sand
The sky died blue and a mountain bun
And out in the distance was a pumpkin sun
Why can't life be so sweet
You work every day to survive a week
With so much work hour after hour
No wonder why this world is sour
So I took a walk to a tower of cheese
Feeling only the peppermint breeze
Gumdrop rocks of yellow and red
And for the first time I was glad I wasn't dead
Why can't life be so sweet
You work every day to survive a week
With so much work hour after hour
No wonder why this world is sour
Then suddenly I heard a deafening sound
The sky was gray must be judgement day
I fell to my knees not prepared to see
The world as it is in reality
Why can't life be so sweet
You work every day to survive a week
With so much work hour after hour
No wonder why this world is sour
