With a girl and a boy

Now the girl was a terrific performer
And the boy, well, he sang
He spent days at the piano trying to work out the right words

Now the girl had the the most pleasant temperament
There never seemed to be anything wrong
She could hide away pain behind a smile
And she'd light up the room if she was stood in one

But the boy had a tendency for anger
He got annoyed by the smallest of things

Now the girl took the boy to a corner and said
"Darling, there's no need to get so upset"
She said "Why not use boomerang or mustang
Or clang or meringue
Even though meringue doesn't end with an ang

He stared at the girl in amazement
He couldn't find the right words to say
