Practice a new smile
The shock of the last one stung a while
Feeling silly but I want to learn
Put my hair into its place
Repeat lines I left in outerspace
My mind wont let them go
Her world
Fed her words that she looked through
Again and again
She thought they were friends
I know
That I did my best
But the punches were trends
Now the meanings all blend
I've forgotten now
Almost every word they said
Doesn't matter anyhow
Yes they're gone but the words they spread
I remember now
To check smile lines before bed
Brush my hair
I'm older but I cant forget
What was said by my childhood friend
Practice the words I say
If they laugh they might want to stay
And if not I just don't know
Put my expectations in place
Somehow I know I'm easy to replace
If you love them let them go
My world
Fed me words that I looked through
Again and again
I thought we were friends
I know
That I did my best
But the punches were trends
Now the meanings all blend
I've forgotten now
Almost every word they said
Doesn't matter anyhow
Yes they're gone but the words they spread
I remember now
To check smile lines before bed
Brush my hair
I'm older but I can't forget
What was said by my childhood friend
My eyes
Have never looked greater in sunlight
But oh how I hate
When my smile lines
Hang on the wall of my home
And what if
My friend never told me about them
Would I have saved more of my photos
I try to let go what was said by my childhood friend
But I know what was said in my childhood
