Running in a maze all my working days
Had its cost
It took some time to finally find
I was lost
There's a country boy buried in me
Wanting to break free
Kept telling me, I need to be
Back in the Woods
Back in the woods, where I can breathe
Something in the trees sets this country boy free
Back in the woods, surrounded by green
Back in the woods, where I found me
This old world can spin you around
Twist you in a knot
But once I'm under that canopy
That don't mean a lot
It's the smell of white pine in the air
It's the quiet that brings me peace
It's calling me, and I want to be
Back in the woods
When my sole is wearing thin
And I'm weary from that climb
I just tighten up my laces
Take one step at a time
I traded concrete and city streets
For a wooded Glen
I shed my shiny shoes for some hiking boots
And this silly grin
There's more to life than this work-a-day world
This rat don't race
Gonna take some time and let my mind unwind
Back in the woods
