Hayley Williams has made it official. After leaking an album's worth of solo material on her website, the
Paramore singer has released the new songs on DSPs, complete with individual artwork. The cover art for each song is a different black and white photo of Williams, embellished with bright gold highlights. Album still
TBD.
The new music first came to light when it was shared on Williams' website, which could only be accessed with a special 16-digit code. The code was acquired by making a purchase from her hair dye company, Good Dye Young. Among the 17 new tunes: "GLUM," "Negative Soft Talk," "Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party," "Ice In My OJ," and "I Won't Quit On You." Listen here, or via the playlist below.
Per a press release, Williams wrote, played and recorded a variety of instruments across each of the 17 songs. Other contributors included her Paramore touring bandmate Brian Robert Jones and Joey Howard. Additionally, Jim E. Stack, who recently produced Lorde's album Virgin, co-wrote the song "True Believer."
Williams' release followed the singer debuting one of the new songs, "Mirtazapine," first on Nashville Public Radio, and then live with Bleachers at last weekend's Newport Folk Festival.
