Zae G. - Changes (feat. Cariño) Lyrics

I remember walking in on the first day
I was lost and uneasy
First day of high school
With people I'd never greeted
Mr Brawley at the door
Eager to begin teaching
He's always looked out
One of the reasons I'm still breathing
It was tough year, the first year yes it was
I was walking with depression
It was me against the world
So when Coach Jay invited me to play
I tried to say no
Wouldn't take the answer so I played ball, I had never before
It kept me sane and sober
I could finally take my rage out on another
230 playing line with who I tried to call my brothers
It gave something to do, football kept me out of trouble
The first two years of high school were a struggle

I tried to make friends
I just couldn't connect
I was different
From a different origin
Didn't make sense
Thank you to ones who had patience with meh
I know I made it hard
But you stuck till the end

Cambios en la vida que me duelen
Ya ni se si puedo mas
Pensando si mis bendiciones van a llegar
Cuando van a llegar

Cambios en la vida que me duelen
Ya ni se si puedo mas
Pensando si mis bendiciones van a llegar
Cuando van a llegar

Then came the third year
The worst year academically
I was failing every class
I was struggling what was wrong with me
I was turning 18 and was gone the light inside of me
I found a spark when I finally started writing
Thank you Ms. Yordy
You always knew what to say
You always put up with me
When I was absent or late
Or had to much to say
You know how to listen
You're another reason why I'm still here today
Mrs. Bonen-Clark you also knew how to listen
I remember sitting in your office
For hours I was venting
You never judged
Despite knowing my condition
You gave me advice
You found the time to checked in
Thank you all
You all are blessings

Cambios en la vida que me duelen
Ya ni se si puedo mas
Pensando si mis bendiciones van a llegar
Cuando van a llegar

Cambios en la vida que me duelen
Ya ni se si puedo mas
Pensando si mis bendiciones van a llegar
Cuando van a llegar

I wasn't thinking about going back
Wasn't thinking about senior year
I just wanted to work by the time it started getting near
I said not that
I didn't want to continue
I was scared of failing again
Didn't want to waste time as a senior
But I went back
I don't know why I did
It got tough, at times I wanted to give in
With bipolar and ADD
Didn't think I'd make to the end
But here I am, about to graduate, with some great friends
It was a tough year, no doubt about it.
But had to make it right to the team I abandoned,
Thanks Coach for putting up with me, I know how I was acting
You challenged me to be better
You taught me to make it happen
Mr Brawley
Your talks, your stories changed me
Thank you for the sincere conversations
When we was anxious
Thank you for checking in through the pandemic, and being someone I look up to on the daily
Father Paul,
I'm thankful for moments you was with us
You looked to talk to me when you saw I was getting distant
And helped through some rough times
Times when I wished I had never existed
Thank you for everything
Mrs. B, Mrs. Petterson
Mr Harrington, Sra. Ferrouilet
Sra. Canache, Mrs. Varrichio
I miss y'all everyday
Mrs. Streiff and Mrs. Kapp
Thank you for the patience
You all impacted life, I could never repay ya
Mr. Gray can't forget about you,
I related to your story, you taught me to think differently
From different backgrounds, I saw myself in your story,
I hope you know it means a lot that you've fought hard to live your dreams
Mr Fraune, I know sometimes you get a bad rep,
You say what's on your mind, I respect that heavily
You taught me a lot, how to be a better man
That's it's ok to make mistakes
As long as you make amends

Cambios en la vida que me duelen
Ya ni se si puedo mas
Pensando si mis bendiciones van a llegar
Cuando van a llegar

Cambios en la vida que me duelen
Ya ni se si puedo mas
Pensando si mis bendiciones van a llegar
Cuando van a llegar
