Here's a story about a world
And all the places we come from.
There's a little store on every corner.
The games we used to play for fun.
And here's a thought that I've been thinking,
Just a mild case of what I know;
While all the babies eyes are sleeping,
Another world is on the go.
We're changing fast our race and color,
The way we call the Earth our mother.
The hypocrites, in a peaceful outcry,
Stopping wars before they can die.
There's a picture on the wall
Of Elvis in Las Vegas,
The giving tree of lights;
Did he wonder where the highway takes us?
Enough, enough, I just can't take it.
We're out of gas, it just won't make it.
The fire, now, is left still burning.
This great big world just keeps on turning.
I don't know the way of the white man;
A fist full of lust for a new land,
Made to combust in a fool's hand.
Don't crawl on your knees if you can stand.
Here's a story about a world
And all the places we come from.
There's a little store on every corner.
The games we used to play for fun.
And here's a thought that I've been thinking,
Just a mild case of what I know;
While all the babies eyes are sleeping,
Another world is on the go.
[Chorus]
This great big world just keeps on turning.
